Derrynane Beach

Caherdaniel, Kerry

An extensive sandy beach in Derrynane Bay near a Natural Heritage Area. The village of Caherdaniel is located two miles to the north west. Derrynane is one of the most alluring spots in Ireland. The terrain varies from rugged shore lines to gently rolling hills.

Fields of purple orchids. Rock pools, natterjack toads and migratory birds such as golden orioles in spring. Little egrets in winter. If you have an hour to spare pick up the informative Nature Trail booklet at Derrynane House.
