New Quay. Harbour Beach Beach

New Quay, Ceredigion

New Quay, or Ceinewydd, is a picturesque and internationally renowned resort village and was once a flourishing fishing port and ship building centre. Harbour beach, with its deep golden sands and secluded harbour, offers both bathing and boating facilities.

Nature and Wildlife

There are frequent sightings of bottlenose dolphins within this section of the Cardigan Bay Special Area of Conservation (The New Quay Dolphin Monitoring Group Website). The beach is also part of the Ceredigion Heritage Coast.

Cleaning and Litter

The beach is cleaned daily between Easter and September. Bins are provided in the car park.

Dogs

Dogs are banned on the beach. between May 1st and September 30th and there are dog bins.

Access

If travelling from the north on the A487. turn off at Llanarth onto the B4342. If travelling from the south. leave the A487 at Synod Inn (Post-mawr) on to the A486.

Public Transport

The nearest railway stations are Aberystwyth or Carmarthen. Buses between Aberystwyth and Cardigan go through New Quay (the 550 and 551 services).
